Guess what, Elvi decided to order some new colours to dye her hair and she added some ‘alpine green’ with the ‘carnation pink’ and ‘rubine’ she usually orders. (All from La Riche Directions) The result: She looks like a ‘my little pony’! Which isn’t a bad thing at all, she loves it! What do you think?

Today was another lovely sunny day! Jade spent her afternoon walking her dogs in the herbal garden with her boyfriend, and buying delicious coffee from some special little store she only just discovered, while elvi spent it getting her hair dyed pink again by our friend Lai-Yan! It took 3 hours this time and she’s quite happy with the result! You can see the before pics below and you’ll see the result in tomorrow’s outfitpost!
Now we’re off to our homework for tomorrow: Translating sentences into Chinese! Yippie!
Enjoy your evening!

Ps. We started writing a new song for a good cause today and it’s catchy!
This is a diy tutorial where I explain how to make your own collar / sweater clips. I got this idea when I saw the first picture of Annika Victoria’s diy collar clips tutorial (see it here @ ‘The Pineneedle Collective). I just saw the pic on facebook and immediately thought she used old clip earrings and made collar clips from it. But then I read the tutorial and found out she made them all by herselve out of clay! Pretty cool, but I was thinking about all those great vintage clip earrings waiting for me in my mum’s shop. I just used the clips that have been lying there for a longer time, because they’re a bit too big to put on your ears, but would look great as collar clips. My mum gave them to me : ) and I also made some extra clips for her to sell as well! It’s really one of the most easy diy tutorials (it only contains 2 steps), so please read on!
I hope you like this very easy diy tutorial. I’ve made 9 different pairs by now and will definately make more! You’ll see these pretty collar clips again in our next outfit posts!
Ps. Here are some more great examples of other people wearing collar / sweater clips:
Pps. If you have any questions, or if you’ve tried this diy tutorial, please let me know! ^^
Ppp: For the Dutch girls, if you like them and you don’t want to make them by yourself, you can buy them in my mum’s shop! (prices between 7,50 and 15 euro)
Yesterday was the beginning of the new schoolterm, so no spare time for us in the upcoming weeks.. Because of that we wanted to enjoy the first day without lessons, so in the morning Laura and Lai-Yan came over to Elvi’s to eat american pancakes and toasted bread with melted cheese (‘tosti’ in dutch!). It was very delicious! Unfortunately Jade wasn’t feeling very well, so she couldn’t be there 😦 After breakfast we painted our nails, we couldn’t finish it before we had to go to school, so we brought my nailpolish with us so we could do it somewhere else during lunchtime! After going to school we had small diner at McDonald’s were we could finish our nails! I made miney mouse inspired nails for Lai-Yan, mint and pink leopard print for Laura and black cats for myself 🙂 The prints weren’t my own idea, I got my pinterest board where I put all sorts of nailart inspiration so I can choose a cute print when I don’t know what to make 🙂
Today was the starting of our lessons, so Jade and I finally made a new picture together! We’ll post it tomorrow. Jade still didn’t feel very well today, so let’s hope she’ll be better soon, because we have to go to Lady Gaga this saturday!! (YAY!!!) And not to forget, this friday’s Antwerp Fashion Night. We’ll be there!!
Because I’ve got vacation I started a lot of little diy-projects. One of them was making a galaxy print on my old shoes. I didn’t like the colour of my diesel boots anymore, because it faded a bit and became a sort of greyish purple. (and I still have another pair of the exact same boots, so no worries if anything would have gong wrong 😉 But I’m quite happy with the result! )
I’ve seen a lot of diy galaxy print shoes tutorials online, but I wanted to use oil paint instead of spray paint or acrylic paint (I guess these are the most used materials to paint your shoes). I like oil paint because it’s water resistant and it’s very easy to apply, you can paint wet-on-wet, which means you don’t have to wait till the paint has dryed before applying a new layer. My mum used to make oil paintings, so I had quite a lot of colours to choose from, but the most important colours you need for this are black, white, red and blue (you can make purple if you mix red & blue).
My shoes are made of suede and the paint dryed quite fast. I also painted a pair of converse all stars at the same day, but those are still wet after two days. But for both shoes I’ll wait at least one week to wear them, I don’t want to ruin my clothes with oil paint..
I’ll update this post later when I know what will happen when it’s wet outside and whether the paint will survive or not. Here’s my little tutorial, it’s not difficult to paint, it took me about two hours in total which included cleaning my hands as well. I hope everything’s clear and don’t hesitate to ask any questions!
Lots of love,
