How are you all doing? Jade had her last day of work yesterday and Elvi is still working hard for school! We found some old pictures from us at school, in between classes, and looking at these pictures, do feel a little nostalgia.. With us following such different classes next year, things just won’t be the same, which is sad but also nice because we are moving forward, and change can be good too. Anyway, we just thought it would be nice to share some pictures that have the both of us in them! The quality is not too good, but they are nice anyway. ^^
Love, TNT! (We should start writing this without the comma, as in commanding you all to LOVE TALL AND TINY, who knows it might just work)
ps: look at Jade’s long hair, so different…
With my hair being shorter, I feel like now is the time to experiment, because if something goes wrong, it’ll grow back quickly and if necessary I can dye it again. Since I always spend a lot of money on dying my hair blonde, I wanted to try doing it at home.
I googled some products before buying anything, and bumped into a lot of “my hair turned orange!!!” posts on blogs. I also read that when this happens, using an ash-blonde dye can solve the problem. So I chose to go for an ash-blonde dye, from L’oreal. Why L’oreal? Because a friend of mine has her hair done by her mother (who used to be a hair stylist) who says L’oreal products are good because they don’t contain something awful which other products do contain (no idea what though). So I decided to go for this one, it is from L’oreal and the color is number 10.21 called ‘Stockholm’.
Anyway, the box said you could use it on blonde hair, but not too dark blonde, and definitely not brown hair. Since my roots were becoming darker again, I was a little scared, but went for it anyway. The instructions said to do your roots first, and then do the rest, but since I had nobody there to assist me, that was not possible, so I just used it like a shampoo, all over my hair. Then I let it sink in for 30 minutes and tadaa it looks great. Not orange, not grey, not yellow, not green. Just a little lighter. I fell all refreshed now!
So for blondes I advise it =)
I don’t think products like these take the color out of your hair though, it’s just a blonde coloring that you place on top of your hair. So your hair might be a little lighter of fresher, but it won’t go as white as the box says it will. If you want your hair to become much lighter, go to a hairdresser instead. =) My natural color is dark blonde (almost brown really) and the roots of my hair are not blonde after using this product, but they are ‘warmer’ and a little lighter. So it doesn’t replace going to the salon, but it can postpone your visit a little, and thus, save you some money. =)
Oh and by the way, the box contains this ‘color holding conditioner’ which is heavenly good! It doesn’t make your hair greasy but makes it all shiny. Love it!
ps: might try something like this soon, like it?
Before going to Italy I got a haircut! Me! The one who always says she refuses to cut a centimeter off because long hair is so pretty. I just felt like having something different for a change, and went for it. So as you can see in my previous posts, my hair was shoulder length.
But then I started thinking… I’m young, I’m a student, if I ever want to try some stuff out hair-wise, now is the time! And then I started looking at pictures of Audrey Hepburn with short hair and one thing lead to another and BAM I cut off all my hair. Mind you, I’m not bald, it’s just really short now! I just feel like it’s a challenge, long princess hair is something you can hide behind, and I thought it could be a fun challenge, trying to create a fun look every day without being able to braid and make ponytails. I feel quite confident, knowing that I don’t need my princess hair to feel pretty! Quite proud..
It feels sooo weird! So light! It dries incredibly fast and I never have to comb it, nor use conditioner on it. Wow…
Anyway, since I’ve already had this haircut for a while now, I felt like it was time to tell you guys.. Hope you all like it!
ps: I will be trying out different colors too, stay tuned!
We’re still working really hard for our exams, which is so exhausting… But the end of the tunnel is getting closer! In about a week from today it’ll be over. That’s relieving as well as frightening. You see, on the one hand we want the exams to be over asap and go lie in the sun with a cocktail in our hands. But on the other hand, we want (and need) more time! We just have too many things to study! Elvi has an exam today, let’s hope it goes well! It should, because she’s been working really hard for it the last couple of days. So thumbs up for her everyone!
Check out these pictures we took a while ago. They were taken when we had to go to this ‘French Sinology’ day and attend lectures that were entirely in French. We had a whale of a time, really, it was super interesting. Considering we don’t speak French, that was sarcasm. Also, the parts that we did understand, we didn’t agree with. So it wasn’t really the bestest of days… But we attended and survived, the way we do!
Don’t you love this hairdo? I really do! I’ve been thinking of dying my hair even lighter than it is now, and that would cause my hair to become very dry and frizzy. So I guess I’ll have to cut some off. But when I see Buffy rocking this hairdo, I’m thinking: I could pull it off just as well! Do you think I should go ahead with it? I sure think I should!! Buffy the Vampire Slayer is one of my absolute favorite TV shows. Apart from the storyline and amazing characters, I also really like her style. I took some screenshots of some of my favorite Buffy outfits from season 2, as well as some pictures of her awesome hair. She’s quite the style icon if you ask me. Blurry pictures, but hey, it’s screenshots from a 90’s show.
Remember last Thursday when we got all emotional about our last day of school? Well, this picture was taken right after our last class. Don’t we look like almost-graduating sinologists?
No, okay, you’re right, we don’t. Maybe if we’d wear glasses and elbow patches…
Nope, still not working. But who cares? We look cool! And kind of Chinese, since Jade is doing the peace thing.
Last week we also let our good friend Cécile braid our hair together, it’s like all kinds of chocolate or different milkshake flavors mixed together.
Darn now we’re hungry.
We had our first exam today! It was our most important Chinese exam, which mostly contains grammar and vocabulary exercises, and which basically is our theoretical exam. Tomorrow and Thursday we still have to do our practical Chinese exams. Then, two weeks later we have to do some other exams like Chinese literature, classical Chinese etc. It’s tough, but on the other hand, we have the summer ahead of us now. At least, we sure hope we do! We read in the newspaper today, that Western Europe is going to have the worst summer since 1816, that’s almost 200 years ago! Also, since our last summer kind of sucked (due to resit exams and working) we were really hoping to catch up on some summer… So please oh please let the weather be good, or we might just sink into a deep state of some kind of.. — wait let’s not think about the possible depressing consequences, let’s just hope it’ll be okay!!
Check out this picture from a while ago. See mister weather? That’s the kind of weather we like.
