A while ago we played some of our songs live at ‘Het Depot’ in Leuven and we just uploaded one of them on youtube, enjoy!
We can’t wait to start making music again!! xx TNT
For those who regularly read our blog, this is all very repetitive, but still, for those who don’t: a while ago we entered a competition called ‘Students On Stage’ which is organized by our university. We got into the semi-finals (yay for us!) and those were held yesterday! We had a blast! It was a super tiny stage (even though it was at held at a very popular location) but all three of us got on. “Three? My oh my, I though it was only two!” Nope! It is only two, but for one of our songs we hired a very dear friend of Jade to come help us out. He normally plays an entirely different kind of music, but he had a lot of fun doing this for a change. Check out his own band’s facebook HERE. Thank you Matthieu! We also have a new favorite prop called ‘Rocky Rawr’ which we taped onto the synthesizer (you can see him on the left). And of course we brought the usual amount of flowers, clocks, bird cages etc. It was very funny, since all the other bands that played were rock or metal bands, our poppy sound came as quite the surprise for the audience. Haha, maybe we should’ve taken pictures of their faces instead of our own, that would have made a good series of photos!
We didn’t get into the finals (check out who did HERE), but still, we had a good time! At the end of our performance, one of the people who worked there asked us if we wanted to play in their monthly open mic, because she liked our music. Guess when that open mic was? Also yesterday! So basically, we were there all day. Which means we’re very very tired now, so it’s time to get some sleep. =)
Scroll down to see some pictures! You can see the three of us on our tiny stage, and the last picture was taken during the open mic. Enjoy!
Ho ho ho!
Since the holiday season is upon us we decided to dress all fancy for this post! We divided the post into two sides: the good girl side and the bad girl side. Not that difficult to figure out which is which eh? We used this photo to enter a competition @Chictopia, please oh please vote for us HERE! We also wanted to make a Christmas song! Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time to make our own version so we had to download a karaoke version and sing to it. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the only version we could find was this awful one, which forced us to either sing too high or too low. We thought it sounded so bad, we kept laughing while recording it. After a while we made the camera blurry, so we wouldn’t really see ourselves being stupid anymore, which actually helped. So… Well.. Basically it sucks! But still we posted it, because it’s funny and we just had to post a Christmas song. Maybe after the exams, in february, we’ll post a better version. Or maybe next year? =) Scroll all the way down to check it out! It’s really cozy here in Leuven by the way! Every street is decorated with little lights.. Jade and her boyfriend went out to get some beignets (which in English is a fritter, no?) and they were delicious! There is also a beautiful carrousel near the Town Hall which you can see below!
Happy holidays everyone!!
Kisses, Tall & tiny
ps: if you want to make our 8th day of Christmas wish come true, donate here! (and feel free to send us those Converse shoes as well)
Yesterday was Laura’s birthday! And this Monday we went out to celebrate! We got her a lovely pair of earrings, a beautiful bracelet (yes, all from Elvi’s mom’s store), a bottle of nail polish and bath pearls in all kinds of cute shapes! All the presents totally match her awesome new shoes (see post: Happy Anniversary). The nail polish is exactly the same color! First we– Well, actually, first we went to class but honestly, who cares. So anyway, first we (us, Lai Yan and birthday girl Laura) went to this adorable Mexican restaurant (El Sombrero) in Jade’s street where we had such a yummy diner, cocktail and dessert (thanks Laura!). We went to this restaurant after finishing our first year of sinology here too, and took our very first Tall and tiny picture there. We’ve taken some new pictures in front of the same wall! Don’t forget to check out Jade’s R2D2 skirt which she got for her birthday (thank you Nele!!). When we were about to pay the check, Laura held all of our money together in her hands and felt all rich, which was very cute, as you can see below. ^^ After that, we went to Laura’s place where we were asked to blow up 50 balloons for her! Omg… That’s A LOT of balloons! Lai Yan taught Jade how to tie a knot in your balloon once it’s all blown up. She can do it now, but also has a very sore finger… Then more people arrived and the party got started! It was super crowded in there, but so much fun! The atmosphere was really good. : ) After some fun hours there -including present time!- we went out into the city. And so last but not least we had some drinks at the Apero, which was also very nice. Jade was all happy because they were playing all of Gorillaz’ Demon Days album there. And so, can you can see in our pictures, it was a really great evening! We hope Laura enjoyed it too, love you!!
Tall and Tiny
we don’t have many pictures, nor much to tell today because Jade was sick and we quickly went to class and then back home again. =( Elvi’s also been feeling bad, really everyone around here is sick! Ah well, despite the sickness, we did wear nice outfits. ^^
Urban outfits today! Hope you guys like it. =) It was horrible weather, but that didn’t stop us from going to the market! We went there to buy a banana, because Elvi loves to eat toast with cheese, mayonnaise and bananas (of which Jade thinks it’s a very strange combination but secretly can’t wait to try it..). And do you like the jeans? They were Elvi’s birthday present this year!
love, TNT (kaboom, haha!)
Yesterday miss Liu Yandong visited our school, and the both of us got to attend! It was interesting to listen to what she has to say, as well as see what clothes she wears, how she greets people, how she poses for a picture.. It tells us a lot about her, as well as the Chinese in general. It was a true cultural lesson! We also got Belgian and Chinese flags to wave around at her, which of course we loved! Also, as you can see, we found particular joy in waving the flags in front of each other’s faces while taking our pictures!
