We’re still working really hard for our exams, which is so exhausting… But the end of the tunnel is getting closer! In about a week from today it’ll be over. That’s relieving as well as frightening. You see, on the one hand we want the exams to be over asap and go lie in the sun with a cocktail in our hands. But on the other hand, we want (and need) more time! We just have too many things to study! Elvi has an exam today, let’s hope it goes well! It should, because she’s been working really hard for it the last couple of days. So thumbs up for her everyone!
Check out these pictures we took a while ago. They were taken when we had to go to this ‘French Sinology’ day and attend lectures that were entirely in French. We had a whale of a time, really, it was super interesting. Considering we don’t speak French, that was sarcasm. Also, the parts that we did understand, we didn’t agree with. So it wasn’t really the bestest of days… But we attended and survived, the way we do!
We have some pictures which we have been wanting to share with you for quite a while now, but we just haven’t had the time to do so. So here is an extra long post, filled with pictures from the last couple of weeks!
The first series of pictures was taken this week. Check out Elvi’s amazing updo. All those colors… Woooow….
We went out together this tuesday, and on our way home we passed this sign. It says “Het fietsexamen” which stands for a test you can take, to prove you can ride a bicycle. No, you don’t need a driver’s license to be allowed to ride a bike here in Belgium, but if you doubt your bicycle skills, you can take this exam. And now comes the big shocker of the day: Jade is 21 years old and she doesn’t -repeat: doesn’t- know how to ride a bike. She just never learned it, and also she has no insight in traffic. It’s like walking with a monkey or a very small child, even as a pedestrian she hasn’t got a clue where she’s going. We’re all wondering how that’s gonna turn out when she starts driving a car…
This picture was taken yesterday. It’s blurry because it was taken very quickly, as it was raining like hell. Some people are setting up a fake circus right outside our school, with statues of elephants, tigers and bears, but we have no idea why. Well, whatever they’re doing, it looked cool and we had to take a picture with the elephant!
These pictures were taken more than a month ago, when the weather was actually nicer than it is now… Check out how the girl on Elvi’s shirt has the same hair as her, and check out Jade’s little clock!
Ah, the next part of our post is rather interesting– and disgusting!! Lai-Yan had gotten some free samples from Lush. Now, don’t get us wrong, we love lush. Their products are without a doubt a-ma-zing as well as super animal friendly! However this product was… not their best… And that was a euphemism. It were three little tablets, which smelled awful, and we were supposed to put them in our mouths and then they would start foaming or something and it would be like a natural toothpaste. Didn’t happen. No foam, no toothpaste. Just a wet tablet that tasted like poo inside your mouth. It was disgusting, and we actually felt quite sick after using it… BLEH! Check out Jade’s face after using it, priceless.
And last but not least, how ridiculously well do these roller skates match out outfits AND cupcakes? We would look so totally awesome…
Enjoy the weekend!
How are you all doing? We have some pictures we forgot to upload! It’s us rehearsing for the Students on Stage concert. It was super cozy, and since the weather was so nice, we went outside and had a drink on the terrace afterwards. It truly was a lovely day!
This picture was taken a couple of weeks ago, but we forgot to post it! Elvi is wearing one of her favorite colors: mint green, which totally matches her pink hair, doesn’t it? And Jade is wearing her ‘Italian dress’. It’s not actually from Italy, but she thinks it totally matches a city like Firenze. This summer she is going to Tuscany and she’ll be able to test whether the dress does or doesn’t look good there, it most probably will, don’t you think? ^^
We wish you all a happy Tuesday!
For those who regularly read our blog, this is all very repetitive, but still, for those who don’t: a while ago we entered a competition called ‘Students On Stage’ which is organized by our university. We got into the semi-finals (yay for us!) and those were held yesterday! We had a blast! It was a super tiny stage (even though it was at held at a very popular location) but all three of us got on. “Three? My oh my, I though it was only two!” Nope! It is only two, but for one of our songs we hired a very dear friend of Jade to come help us out. He normally plays an entirely different kind of music, but he had a lot of fun doing this for a change. Check out his own band’s facebook HERE. Thank you Matthieu! We also have a new favorite prop called ‘Rocky Rawr’ which we taped onto the synthesizer (you can see him on the left). And of course we brought the usual amount of flowers, clocks, bird cages etc. It was very funny, since all the other bands that played were rock or metal bands, our poppy sound came as quite the surprise for the audience. Haha, maybe we should’ve taken pictures of their faces instead of our own, that would have made a good series of photos!
We didn’t get into the finals (check out who did HERE), but still, we had a good time! At the end of our performance, one of the people who worked there asked us if we wanted to play in their monthly open mic, because she liked our music. Guess when that open mic was? Also yesterday! So basically, we were there all day. Which means we’re very very tired now, so it’s time to get some sleep. =)
Scroll down to see some pictures! You can see the three of us on our tiny stage, and the last picture was taken during the open mic. Enjoy!
Since we’re rehearsing our songs here @Antwerp this weekend, Jade wanted to show Elvi her neighborhood. She lives pretty close to three gorgeous parks, one of them which is a museum full of statues! We took some ridiculous pictures at a statue by Auguste Rodin, acting just like Chinese tourists. ^^ We also crossed ‘the bridge without a name’ which is a wibbly wobbly bridge, made by Ai Weiwei (the dogs had a good time walking, but found the bridge rather hard to cross ^^). We also spotted some very cute little geese and visited the lovely deer. And of course, ice cream! Yummm…. When we were making pizza’s, Jade broke a knife. SHE BROKE A KNIFE! Now she thinks she’s the reïncarnation of Hercules. Ah well..
How are you all doing? We are super duper busy lately, because we have been selected for the semi-finals of Students on Stage! Seriously, what is up with us and competitions lately… We’ll be playing next wednesday, at 4 PM @HET DEPOT in Leuven. So anyone who is in the neighborhood: come watch us play! Here is the FB-link to the event: https://www.facebook.com/events/177109995779269/
The weather is going up and down here. Some days it’s super warm and then sometimes it’s like -BOOM- someone turned the sun off. Ah well, when the sun is out we can take lovely pictures like this one below! Check out how Jade’s outfit is all matchy matchy. Diadem, earrings, lipstick, (temp) tatto, dress, shoes… She almost never does that!
We wish you all a happy weekend!
